Here are some of the common situations that can cause stress for your dog.
Loud noises – as dogs have very sensitive hearing, loud noises such as fireworks can be very distressing.
Moving – this could be moving to a new home after adoption or just visiting a new place
Meeting new people – this can be stressful as it could trigger thoughts of mistreatment in the past or simply because they are territorial.
Leaving your dog alone – if your dog is used to company at home and then you go away for the day, it may suffer from separation anxiety.
